The 5th edition of International PackTech India, jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf India Pvt. Ltd. and Messe Düsseldorf, Germany, under the patronage of the Institute of Packaging Machinery Manufacturers of India (IPMMI), Paper, Film & Foil Converters Association (PFFCA) and the SIES School of Packaging concluded successfully, last week at Bombay Exhibition Center, Goregaon Mumbai with outstanding results having attracted a significantly higher number of Exhibitors and Visitors.
The event was supported by the Ministry of Science & Technology - Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry - Government of India, Government of Maharashtra, All India Food Processors' Association (AIFPA), the SIES School of Packaging and other prominent national associations from the industry.
Spread over 6,000 sq mtrs, the show attracted 96 exhibitors from 6 countries with group participation from Germany, which was a major feature of the show. Apart from a sizeable Indian participation, there was international presence from China, Italy, Netherlands, Taiwan and Turkey.
The 4 day event showcased the participation by frontline industries represented by the packaging and food processing machinery sector, packaging conversion as well as packaging ancillaries industries, besides all adjuncts related to packaging. In this edition of International PackTech India, Messe Düsseldorf India had brought in a new related segment - food processing, as it is a potential high growth sector. The new segment also received an encouraging response.
The Global Conference - ‘Meet the Technology’, organized by SIES School of Packaging in co-operation with Messe Duesseldorf India was held from November 20-21, 2008 synchronising with the exhibition. The Conference deliberated on the recent developments in packaging materials, package forms, packaging machinery and ancillaries. Experts from the respective fields from world over addressed the delegates and shared their rich knowledge and experience. About 100 delegates attended the conference.
3648 registered trade visitors from all over India and from 22 countries including the neighboring countries of Nepal, Bangladesh, and from as far as Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia attended the four day exhibition.
The participating exhibitors were happy about the quality of visitors and many an exhibitor made good business contacts at the show. The result of the onsite survey proved that both the exhibitors and visitors were very satisfied with both the venue and the exhibition. They were particularly impressed with the organization of the exhibition and the facilities available.
